Ben Frost is best known for his ‘collage’ style
of dynamic post-pop painting. Inspired by techniques and concepts from areas as diverse as graffiti, photo-real painting and sign writing, his often large-scale works are complex
mash-ups of popular culture that have been diced, sliced and warmed over the burning embers of the 20th century. His work subverts mainstream iconography, it is bold, confronting and often controversial. His painting ‘White Children Playing, Late 1900s’ was recently singled out by the mainstream media for its graphic depiction of children injecting drugs. Frost’s work has appeared in publications including Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, and the Sydney Morning Herald. He has contributed to Black + White Magazine, Blue and Men’s Style magazines. He does commissioned work for commercial organisations.
