Gabrielle de Vietri’s concept driven practice includes sculptural, photographic, performative, moving-image, written and imagined works and is constructed in the hope of activating new social imaginaries through which personal and social change may occur. This is instigated in her work through humorous, yet sincere, proposals of alternative ways of acting, interacting and transacting, creating new relationships and new realities. Gabrielle graduated with First Class Honours in the Bachelor of Fine Arts at the Victorian College of the Arts in 2005 after studying for two years at the Ecole Supérieure d’Art d’Aix in France. She is the founding editor of the annual publication, Ideas Catalogue.
Gabrielle is currently exhibiting in NEW08 at the Australian Centre for Contemporary Art (ACCA).
