Nurin Veis is Senior Curator of Human Biology and Medicine for Museum Victoria. She developed the exhibition ‘The Human Body’
for the Mind and Body Gallery at Melbourne Museum. Her new project, ‘The Mind: Enter the Labyrinth’, explores the capacities of the most complex phenomenon in the known universe
the human mind. It sets a benchmark for an exhibition based on sensory and exploratory experiences, addressing the science of the
mind while also taking an historical perspective on mental health. ‘The Mind’ showcases a wide variety of objects, from a real human brain, to the artwork of psychiatric patients and objects from asylums. Immersive activities allow visitors to step into the minds of others and force them to experience specific emotions.
