Professor Rob Adams has over 30 years’ experience as a practising architect and urban designer. As Director of City Design and Urban Environment for City of Melbourne, he has produced research-based urban projects and strategies worthy of over eighty state and national awards for excellence. Cross cultural and inter-disciplinary collaboration has formed a critical underpinning of Rob’s work, as illustrated by his research with Danish urban designer, Jan Gehl. Rob is a passionate believer in the good design of cities and the important role to be played by all levels of government. A champion of the arts and environmental sustainability, he has worked to ensure that good urban design is established as a platform for city development in the future. Rob was recently awarded a Member of the Order of Australia (AM).
